Project at a Glance:
This project wants our students and teachers to acquire a better knowledge of the European Union and a deeper sense of belonging to it while helping them improve their competences in foreign langues, social skills and digital ICT. To do so, we want to develop a multilingual website on the EU. By resorting to new ICT, improving their linguistic and social skills, and their cultural knowledge, we intend to fight prejudices and make distances between the different countries appear shorter, thereby making the EU a more easily apprehensible living and working space. By the end of this project, we expect the participants will feel not only French, German, Spanish, Polish or Bulgarian but first and foremost, European.
Throughout the year, we will deal with all the 27 countries and during each visit (there will be 5 of them) we intend to focus on the partners’ countries according to specific topics.
Project Objectives
Our objectives are to:
- Motivate our students to learn foreign languages and explore other European cultures, by resorting to ICT: development of a web site and communication through video conferences. But also, by organizing exchange visits.
- Improve our students' and teachers' linguistic skills and their cultural knowledge on the EU.
- Improve their ICT skills.
- Improve our students' civic and social skills, and their autonomy: they will learn about EU institutions and how they work, learn mutual respect and accept differences (they will stay with host families and have to work in group), learn to organise, plan their future and involve themselves.
- Motivate other institutions to take part in European projects.
